The first relationship is our relationship to God. Jesus, in caring for a
very needy woman during His ministry on earth said: "…a
time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks". You see, that is the bottom line, we must have the kind of relationship with God where we are "true worshipers" of Him. Oh, how we
need to know what God says about this relationship and how it happens.
The second relationship is our relationship with Jesus Christ. The Words of Jesus are
clear when He declares that the only way to God the Father is through God the Son:
Jesus says, "I
am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except
through me". Oh, the loveliness of Christ who tasted death for those who believe in
Him, paying for sins He never committed and then demonstrating His power over
death, hell and sin by rising from the dead. It is our relationship with Him that enables
us to have right relationship with the Father.
The third relationship as a true worshiper of God is now our relationship with
community of believers, the church. It is this community of believers that you have been
with today. We are by no means a
perfect church, but we are growing in our love for
Him and one another. The person who loves and worships God through Christ, loves
His church. These are the people who in growing in their love for God grow in their
love for one another. We care for one other in our afflictions and we help one another to
grow in our love for Him. Together, then, we are able to reach out into the community
and around the world, showing others the love of Christ through our lives and work.
I pray that you saw a
little of this passion in us when you were with us. If we can be of
any help to you, please do not hesitate to let us know.
For Christ and His Kingdom,
Pastor John
